Some Oldies but Goodies

Lately, I’ve noticed that I am adding a bit more to my closet than I’d like to admit. I just got 2 Poshmark packages yesterday. While I’m excited to add them into my closet, I know I need to slow my roll and get back to enjoying what I do have. It’s easy to get caught up in the new and trending now if you aren’t careful. So I decided it would be a fun exercise to bring out a few of my favorite oldies but goodies and style them with one another. I did add a couple secondhand items and a couple gifted items to throw into the mix. But mostly, it is my favorite oldies. I’ve highlighted 3 of them, talking about the story behind them and why they are such a big part of my wardrobe.

So, here goes. :)

My favorite ever white t-shirt by Rag & Bone. I picked it up 2 years ago on my birthday during a wine tasting trip my boyfriend took me on. (He knows me so well!) It was $50, and at the time I thought that was expensive. But, you know how it goes, when you’ve had a little too much to drink, your judgement goes out the window. So there I was buying a $50 white t-shirt from a local store. But looking back, this shirt has had WELL over 30 wears. I wore this shirt almost daily for an entire year. Then it got lost for a few months, when one day I randomly remembered it and went on a wild hunt to find it. I found it. And I haven’t let it out of my sight since. It has since gained a tiny hole on the right side but I can easily hide it by tucking it in. Which is how I always wear it anyways. This shirt has treated me well over the years, and has kept it shape!

My leather jacket by TopShop. I found this prize last summer while visiting my boyfriend in San Francisco. It was Nordstrom’s anniversary sale, and this was the last one in stock and in my size. It was half off, and when I put it on it felt like it was made for me. I had been looking for a leather jacket for a long time, and this one was “the one” when I saw it. At the time, I was getting into my journey to buy less, and choose well but I hadn't quite made it over to shopping ethical and sustainable just yet. But I’ve had this jacket for well over a year, and I see many more years to come with it.

This particular jacket by Pull&Bear holds an extra special space in my heart. I bought it 2.5 years ago while on my first solo trip to Dubai. I was still in my fast fashion phase at this point, and definitely had some fun shopping while on my trip. I mean, hello, it was just me. I could do whatever I wanted and I shopped. This jacket immediately caught my eye, and I knew I had to have it. We don’t have Pull&Bear in the States (that I know of) and I felt like if I didn’t get it I would have regretted it. While it has lost one button, It’s treated me well these past 2.5 years.
